When You Might Need Emergency Contraception:
- Lack of a condom or its damage/slipping during intercourse
- Failure of the withdrawal method during intercourse
- Missed birth control pill or inadequate absorption of the pill (e.g., vomiting, diarrhea) without any additional protection
- Improper use of a vaginal ring
In such unexpected situations, emergency contraceptive pills are available. These hormonal medications work by preventing ovulation (LH surge prevention).
It's important to note that emergency contraceptive pills are not abortion pills and should not be used if pregnancy is already established.
How to Take Emergency Contraceptive Pills:
The pill should be taken as soon as possible, but no later than 72 or 120 hours after the event (in the case of vomiting after taking the pill, another pill must be taken). These pills can be used at any point during the menstrual cycle.
If your period is delayed or you notice signs of pregnancy, the pill should only be taken after pregnancy is ruled out.

For the e-prescription* and the e-invoice, it’s mandatory to provide your TAJ number (Hungarian health insurance number) and address.
*(The e-prescription will be uploaded to the cloud (EESZT), and can be redeemed at any pharmacy with your TAJ card and ID.)

Ensure all personal details, phone number, and email are correctly entered.

Please pay the consultation fee online using a bank card. If, after the medical consultation, a prescription is not issued, the fee for the prescription (5,250 HUF) will be refunded.
